Emerging from Oblivion

Tunnel, Oblivion, Emerging from Oblivion, Lack of Blogging

The past several weeks I have been working towards accomplishing one of the biggest taboos in  the blogosphere: abandoning my blog. I want to say that I’m greatly sorry for my lack of attention to the blog and updates as to how my coffee journey is going. I’ve had people ask me since I last blogged if I completely stopped and the answer to that is no I haven’t. The past few weeks have been filled with many great coffee moments (more detail in the coming days), but I have had a completely careless attitude towards updating and blogging due to extreme busyness. I apologize and want to say thank you to those of you who kept reading (there were some of you). Hopefully in the future I won’t disappoint, but we all have weak moments. If I ever feel as if a hiatus is coming, I’ll do my best to alert you of the break, but as for now, look forward to new content in the very near future.

One of those days…

Coffee by the Window Raining OutsideThere are many meanings to the phrase, “one of those days.” More often than not one adds “it’s been” to the front, meaning it’s been a rough day and they really just want to go home, crawl in bed, wake up and start over. We all have had at least one of those. Today it’s been “one of those days,” when it’s raining outside and you just want to go home and curl up to a good book and relax.

It’s a nap kind of day. One where if you didn’t have coffee, your head would be crashing on the keyboard from the many weary head-bobs warning your fate. We all have those kinds of days, where the minutes seem to drip as slow as the rain outside and the atmosphere of the chilled-wetness causes a snuggling comfort from within, longing for a warm fire and the perfect book in which your mind can escape.

Pilgrim's ProgressSo far today, it’s been one of those days for me. The joys of a holiday-eve workday, my wife surprising me with one of my favorite Starbucks‘ drinks and the soothing comfort of the cold, rainy day have proved the perfect start to what the rest of the day seems to hold. Tonight I plan to enter John Bunyan‘s Pilgrim’s Progress and escape to one of the best-selling classics in the history of written word. The only thing that would make this day more soothing and delightful would be owning a Chemex or Aeropress to brew great coffee to accompany such a good read.

May this evening prove to be a relaxing one and may you all have a wonderful, Christ-centered Thanksgiving, praising God for the grace and mercy He has so lavishly bestowed.

Happy Hunting!

As I write these words, a great battle is taking place. This battle separates the men from the boys, the skilled from the unskilled, the quiet from the loud and the patient from the antsy.

Right now man meets wild and only one can stand  victorious. There is no time for coffee in this game. All the Mypressi Twists are gone and pride is at stake! Will man come home celebrating or will he return with his head laid low. Will the animal fight to live another day or will he be next weeks dinner? Only time will tell. Happy hunting!

Happy Thanksgiving: Mypressi’s Are Going Fast!

•November 23, 2010 • 2 Comments

Hello, my fellow coffee journeymen. This week holds the great Thanksgiving holiday, where we all gather with friends and family to give thanks and eat lots of food. In particular, the turkey becomes the center of attention and because of this, there has been an increased demand for mypressi twists among turkeys all across the country. These portable espresso machines are selling out everywhere, so that the turkeys that are left may salvage their lives. This is a last minute effort to hype up on caffeine to better dodge the hunters seeking their doom. Just the other day Tom, was spotted running around with mypressi in hand, looking for a safe spot to boost up on more espresso.

Turkey with Mypressi Twist Portable Espresso Maker

The portability of these espresso makers, along with their proven great resulting cups, are a must for the turkey on the run and anyone who is traveling for the holidays. The mypressi twist makes a great gift idea for the coffee enthusiast, budding coffee journeyman or anyone who wants great espresso on the go this Christmas season. However, if you want one, you better get a move on buying one before the turkeys gobble them all up. Purchasing a mypressi twist from a place like Prima Coffee will not only stimulate the economy or provide a great gift or give you espresso as you travel, but it will assure turkeys for everyone this Thanksgiving Day! Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

    Happy International Men’s Day!

    International Men's Day

I recently learned that today is International Men’s Day. This is a day to celebrate men around the world who fight, sweat and bleed for those they care about. This is a day to honor those men who uphold the name of man, and fulfill the God-given responsibility to toil and labor for the one’s they love. So today, in celebration of International Men’s Day, I give you a few gift ideas you can give that hard working man in your life…

    1.  Yama Syphon Vacuum Coffeemaker: This is for the man who loves fire (and come on, what man doesn’t love fire?!) The syphon coffee maker is where pyro and coffee-lover meet. So if you want to get your man a coffee-maker that looks cool, and makes him feel like more of a man using it, give him the Yama Syphon and you’ll not only make your man happy, but reap the benefits of great coffee!

    2.  A trend in restaurants everywhere, rapidly growing in popularity, is the Xlerator Hand Dryers by Excel. These hand dryers would make the perfect gift for International Men’s Day. The Xelerator drys so fast it almost removes your skin and for almost every man, that is cool!

    3.  Finally, a great gift to get your man in celebration of his manliness on this International Men’s Day is the Aerobie Aeropress. The Aeropress is not your ordinary coffeemaker. Designed by flying disc creator Aerobie, the Aeropress can make great coffee and espresso in very little time and is great for traveling as well. This your man can take on the run to get energized for an intense game of ultimate frisbee!

So there you have three great gift ideas to celebrate the man in your life on International Men’s Day. Here’s to the men who work hard, supporting, leading and caring for their families. As Billy Sunday once said, “You can’t measure manhood with a tape line around his biceps.”
